Scribble Me Silly’s goal is to bring light, hope, laughter, and joy to children through the vehicle of art. We are committed to providing opportunities for self-expression, and to nurturing the creative talents of children in the most silliest of ways.
Scribble Me Silly was founded in 2009 by Isabel Rodriguez with the support of numerous close friends. The organization was inspired by Isabel’s personal experience as a Big Sister, and more specifically by her father’s hardships growing up as an orphan on the street.
At the heart of Scribble Me Silly is the “Day of Silly”, where we bring together children, volunteers, and artists for a day of live music, face painting, arts and crafts, dance, cupcakes, and just plain fun. At the end of the day each child is presented with a take-home art kit, so that they may continue to explore their self-expression in a creative way.
Today Scribble Me Silly is on its way to becoming a provincially recognized Non-Profit Organization with charity status. Our board of directors currently consists of 10 voting members, and with the help of our volunteers we have conducted numerous successful fundraisers. Together we will continue to reach out to the children that need our help.
We believe that children should be children, regardless of their circumstances. This is what truly moves us.
